Social media has become a powerful and versatile tool. Each platform has its benefits, but if you ask me which one I consider the most powerful, I have a clear (and very personal) answer: Instagram.
TikTok is a trendsetter with a fast-paced algorithm that launches you into the world. But I've discovered that Instagram allows me to build a real, ongoing, and deep relationship with my community. It is visually appealing and has tools that enhance the visibility of what you share: editing, collaboration, statistics, scheduling, and a direct connection with those who follow you.
For someone like me who wants to inspire, motivate, and support migrant women who are building a new life, Instagram is a bridge. Through reels, stories, and carousels, I can tell stories, teach something new, share recipes or reflections, and connect with other women like me.
My favorite formats are stories (because they humanize my brand and allow me to interact daily) and carousels, which, although seemingly simple, have enormous power to capture attention, educate, and generate conversation. Each slide can be an invitation to continue reading and sharing.
Plus, with Threads within the same ecosystem, I have an additional channel to connect ideas, thoughts, and reflections in real time without leaving the Instagram environment. Everything is in one place, and I love that.
And what is my role as a creator on social media? To be valid, to be accurate, and to contribute. To use them with purpose, creativity, and empathy. Because yes, social media can be noise... but it can also be a refuge.
