When we think about social media, it's easy to focus on the superficial: the likes, the filters, the viral reels. But I've learned to see something more profound and potent in it over time. Social media can be marvelous if we know how and why to use it.
Through it, I've seen people connect with family members thousands of miles away, solidarity campaigns that have transformed lives, messages that inspire thousands regardless of language or country, and communities that support each other on difficult days. I discovered my ADD diagnosis thanks to specialized mental health accounts that, with clear and empathetic information, helped me take that step toward professional search. That, too, is a marvelous work.
When used with intention, social media becomes a tool for support, education, consolation, and healing.
In my case, I want my digital presence to be helpful. I want to be someone who adds value. I want to create content that inspires, embraces, and accompanies. I want someone who comes to my blog or an Instagram account on a bad day to find words that remind them that they are not alone, that there is hope, and that there is beauty even in difficult times.
My role on social media isn't to show a perfect life but a real life, with purpose and faith that we can support each other.
Social media can be many things... but if we choose well, it can also be a space where the best in us flourishes.
